When traveling to a country like Fiji, one is often treated with outstanding service at one of our many world-class resorts. The combination of being waited on hand and foot, the great beaches, and the many attractions that are offered right on the resort make it difficult to want to leave. However, Fiji has many great things to offer outside of the resorts. The following list, courtesy of fossick, highlights just a few of the countless things to experience in Fiji.
1. Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple
The most popular sight other than the beach, this Indian Temple in Nadi gives you a bit of insight into the non-traditional side of Fiji’s history. Pictured above.2. Sabeto Hot Springs (Mud baths)
Great natural mud pools found in the fills below the Sleeping Giant mountains. A cheap (and quite fun) alternative to the resort spa. To see if in reality check out the images on this link. Sabeto Hot Springs Images3. Sigatoka River safari
A half day tour along the Sigatoka River in a jetboat. If your after a little more cultural experience than the resort show this is a nice day out to see the hinterland of Fiji. Watch Jason from ‘Getaway’ getting very excited about his trip.4. Kula Eco Park
Full of colourful birds and lizards and indigenous flora and fauna. Ideal for entertaining kids, but their also doing great work with endangered species and environmental education so worthy of your tourist dollar.5. Navala Village

A Fijian holiday is about crystal clear waters and beautiful sunsets so if your hotel doesn’t have a great beach then a getting onto the water is essential. There are myriads of options from dive, snorkel, day or dinner cruises. Most hotels offer one, but if your budget is tight shop around. South Seas or Captain Cook the best known.
